Here is how I resolved problem for my HPLaserJet P2015 when I lost the ability to select manual duplex printing after upgrading from Win 7 to Win 10:

Go to Control Panel>Hardware and Sound>Devices and Printers

Right click on HP LaserJetP2015 (or your printer name)

Printer Properties

Advanced

Driver

Click on HP LaserJet P2015 PCL6 (or your printer name with PCL6) instead of HP LaserJet P2015 PCL6 Class Driver.

The manual duplex printing now works.

Seems the PCL6 Class Driver was the problem.

I have no idea what you mean by this?

Manual duplex printing is NOT the problem these people are having.  I have  a Deskjet 6540 with a duplex attachment but after the upgrade to Windows 10, the duplexer does not work and your ONLY choice is to do manual double-sided printing.  This is a royal pain and should be patched by HP or Microsoft or both.

That solution did not work for me.   After the Windows 10 upgrade, I discovered the duplex feature was not available in printer properties.  My next attempt that actually worked is as follows:

1.  I removed any and all drivers related to my HP laserJet P2015d, turned off the printer and unplugged the USB cable and started over with a clean driver install just as if this was a new printer. I also rebooted my computer (rather it needed it or not).

2. I then downloaded the HP P2015p universal driver from hp.com

3.  During the installation of the HP Universal driver, I selected USB Plug & Play option rather than the "Traditional" or Dynamic" options. (In my first attempt before removing any HP printer drivers I had selected the "Dynamic" option, but this choice did not fix the problem.)

4, During the driver installation, the procedure instructed me to plug in the USB cable and turn on the printer.  It then completed the installation process.

5. To test the duplex feature, I opened a Word file, selected the printer, printer properties, selected Finishing and clicked on "print on both sides."  Hooray!  Success and my world is now right again with all the features now available again for my HP printer.

I have a MS Surface Pro 3 with Windows 10 installed and a HP Photosmart 6515. I could not find any way to print on both sides. Thankfully a web search brought me to this topic. I followed the directions given here and successfully printed my document.

Your clear step-by-step instructions are much appreciated. :generic:

I also had the loss of duplex after a new computer and W10 install. Manual only. Used to be auto duplex. Tried -

All Settings, -  Devises, - Clicked on printer ( HP laserjet M1530 MFP ) - Manage, - Printer Properties, - Device Settings, - see that installable options is both installed and enabled. - ok, - go to Advanced (at the top), - Printing defaults ( botton left ), -  click yes to both sides  and ok.

It was this last bit that fixed it. There is also a printer preferences option on the Mange page.

Never mind, it tells me, "The document has been configured to print using the Automatic Two-Sided Prinding module but the module is not installed int he device. The document will be printed one-sided."

Now what?

I also became very frustrated with my duplex printer that was no longer printing both sides automatically (that was  the main feature for me when deciding on my HP Laser Jet Pro MFP M277dw printer).

Thank you clam800 for your suggestion on fixing the duplex problem. I tried it and it worked!!!!
