Enable scan to computer

I am trying to test 'scan to computer.' Oddly enough I cannot get it to work.

I downloaded the software for my HP pro. At first I saw the option 'scan to computer' available on the printer screen.

I tried to test it but immediately the message popped up 'check your connection or check if 'scan to computer' is enabled in your software.

I could not find this 'enable scan' function in the software anwhere. Does anybody know where I can find it? 

Also, when I switched off and on the printer, the 'scan to computer' option wasnt available anymore.

I must have changed a setting, but I am not able to find the setting..

How anybody is able to help out!!

Welcome to HP Support Forum. Firstly, please download an run the following tool:

      http://ftp.hp.com/pub/printers/hppsdr/HPPSdr.exe

It may fix the problem for you. If not, post back full error message(s).

Hi,

thanks for your message. I installed the print and scan doctor.

It says it cannot find the scan software.

However, I installed HP LaserJet Pro MFP M521 Series PCL6 Print and Scan Driver.

Is this the correct version?

I could not find a seperate package for scanning.
