HP Officejet Pro 7740
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

I recently purchased a new OfficeJet Pro 7740 and I wanted to configure it so that I can scan directly from my printer to the PC. However, when I click on my PC name I receive an error message from the HP Scan software saying that "The HP OfficeJet Pro 7740 was not found." Can you please help me with this matter? Is there no way to enable a scan to Network Folder with this printer? Thank you.

Welcome to HP Community

Please download the Full Feature Software and the Firmware from this Link: https://support.hp.com/in-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-officejet-pro-7740-wide-format-all-in-one-printe...

Try scanning and let me know how it goes

Hello,

I have installed the full feature software  and attempted to update the firmware but it says it is up-to-date. I tried to scan to my computer (DESKTOP-HHB0A04) using my PC name but I receive the following error message (please see below).

Thanks for the update

Let's assign a Manual IP Address and check if that helps

1) Obtain the IP address of the printer – You can touch the “wireless” icon on the printer control panel to obtain the IP address.
2) Type the IP address on your web browser to obtain the printer EWS page on your computer.
3) Go to "Network" tab - General - Select "Network protocols" - Select "Enable IPv4 only" (or similar) - Apply the settings.
4) Go to the “Network” tab – Click on “Wireless (802.11) – Then click on “Network address (IPv4)
5) Click Manual IP
6) If you see a Suggest a Manual IP Address button, click Manual IP address, and the Manual IP addresses are automatically filled out for you.
7) If your page does not have a button to suggest a manual IP address, type the IP address, subnet mask, and default gateway using the numbers shown in the report you printed.

Hello,

Is there any additional step after I click on Suggest a Manual IP Address and click on Apply? I just tried scanning again to DESKTOP-HHB0A04 however I receive the same error message.

Thanks.

At this point I suggest we perform a Semi Full Reset.

I have sent the instruction to your Inbox since these steps are specific to printers

Please check your private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Forums profile.

Next to your profile Name, you should see a little blue envelope

Thank you
