Product: Envy 120
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)
Hi,
Printer prints and copies fine. Scanner preview is fine, but when I actually scan there are vertical lines on part of the image/doc (not entire image/doc).
Have tried the steps recommended (power off, settings, etc). Lights seem fine on checking.
I see on some boards there might be an option to do a partial reset?
Any help appreciated otherwise will have to find a local repair (Kent, UK).
Thanks,
Ashley

Hi,
Follow the steps below and update the firmware to solve the issue :
Solution three: Update the printer firmware
Follow these steps to update the printer firmware, and then try to copy or scan again.

Follow these steps to manually check for the latest product updates.
- On the printer control panel, touch the ePrint button (
).
- If Web Services is already enabled, the printer checks for updates, and then returns to the home screen if an update is not found. If an update is found, the update installs automatically. The printer might power off and on depending on the type of update. You do not need to continue with these steps.
- If a message to accept the terms of service displays, continue with these steps to enable Web Services.
- Touch Accept to accept the terms of service.
- Touch Yes to enable Web Services and to allow your printer to check for periodic updates automatically.
- Wait while the printer checks for any available updates.
- If the printer does not find an update, the control panel returns to the home screen.
- If the printer does find an update, the update automatically installs. The printer might power off and then on depending on the update being installed.
Try to copy or scan again.
- If these steps resolved the issue, you do not need to continue troubleshooting.

I'm experiencing the same issue with my HP ENVY 120e. When scanning, colored lines appear in preview & actual scanned image on right side, vertical lines.
I've already cleaned the scanning bed & used the HP cleaning tool with no change.
Have also powered down unit for 5 minutes and tried again - no change.
I use this quite often and can't live without active scanner........
How can I resolve this?
Thanks!
