I had a HP 8600 printer that I would like to get ride of, but would like to erase the internal memory of scan, prints and faxes. Can you please advise. I have unplugged this and removed all software from my computer.

Hi,
Thanks for using the HP Forums.
One simple way is to "Restore to Factory defaults."
After doing that, clear any fax contacts by deleting any Speed Dial setup etc.
There is no hard disk on teh printer, so your previous Scans are saved to the Computer.
If you're really getting rid of the printer, simply cutting the Encoder strip or the carriage belt would render the printer useless.
Hope that helps.
