The printer show the message 51.23 and the action to reset this fault is swith off / on  the printer or contact with HP support to help.

It will be helpful to check the basic steps to understand the issue better.   As described it appears to be an intermittent issue and may not be be a hardware issue.

 

Please help to know if this issue/error is experienced while performing any specific device function (print, scan, copy etc.) and general error frequency during use.  Hope that the device is being used as per recommended monthly print volume specifications and it is having adequate space around for heat dissipation.

Thank you for your answer.

The error 51.23 appear when I switch on the machine, after initialazing process.

The display show:

Error 51.23

Turn on and then Turn off

The funtion "scan to usb" is available. Printing is not possible.

If it is a permanent error and does not allow to use the device for print function, then the device may require service.  You may need contact your regional HP support to request for HP onsite tech. visit and support for this issue.

All the Hp equipment in place bought in Israel and installed in Equatorial Guinea, central west Africa, no service here, nothing!.

For HP equipment most 51 errors relate to a failure of the laser/scanner.

Although we suspect hardware defect (related to laser/scanner) in this case, but you may also check if the toner cartridge being used is Genuine HP and not damaged.  Hope that there is no toner leakage inside the paper path and the transfer roller movement is normal.

O.K, you are right. There is toner leakage inside the paper path. I cleaned the printer. I switched on the printer after cleaning' without cartridges, and also after initializing the error 51.23 displayed.

If the conclusion is mechanical problen in the transfer roller movement, I will try to check it.
