HP Officejet Printer 4630

Last night my Officejet 4630 asked to install updates. It appeared to lock up during the installation process, so I unplugged the power and plugged it back in. Now the display says "ERROR CODE 0XB01089e8 " and will not respond.

Hi @nyworkerbee,

Thank you for showing your interest in HP Support Forums. It is a great place to find the help you need, from other users, HP experts, and other support personnel. I came across your post and wanted to assist you, I understand you are getting a '0x' error message on your HP OfficeJet 4630 printer. I'll be really glad to help you with this,

To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:

What is the Operating System installed on the PC?

Please make sure that the printer is connected directly to the wall outlet and not to the surge protector.

Remove all the ink cartridges and then try to perform a hard reset on the printer.

With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

Remove USB cable, if present.

Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.

Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord and then plug back the power cord to the printer.

Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle.

Now insert the ink cartridges and then try to print a test page and check if it works.

If your printer connected wirelessly, make sure to temporary connect the device with USB and then follow the link to check for the latest firmware update if available for your printer, using this website.

I tried all of these things myself because I saw others had the same problem and nothing is working. I can not reistall the print cartriges because they are stuck all the way to the right under a piece that will not move. I was able to remove the color cartridge but it didn't do anything. The printer shows no response, makes no noises, just keeps redisplaying the error message. This is all a result of accepting the prompted system update that the HP system recommended, so this needs to be fixed. Please advise. I can not get anyone to help on the phone.
