The possible solutions are:
Turn the device off, and then turn the device on.
Reseat the connectors between the laser/scanner and the DCC, (DC controller), (J801 and J321).
Replace the laser/scanner assembly.
Replace the DCC
Sometimes a Technically adept person will replace their own laser scanner, on your model you can do it working in the "Cave", but it will be tight.
The Cave is the area under the scanner where documents feed out of the printer.
