Hello, I have recently recieved a HP Envy 5032 laptop but whenever I turn it on it comes up with Error Code oxc4eb8004. Is there any way of fixing this or should I just send it back?

@Gemma5,

Welcome to the HP Forums 🙂 I would like to take a moment and thank you for using this forum, it is a great place to find answers. For you to have the best experience on the HP forum, you could also visit our HP Forums Guide for First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More. I see from your post that you're getting 0xc4eb8004 error message on your HP Envy printer. Don't worry we'll work together to help you find a solution.

To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:

Have you recently made any changes before the issue started?

Have you checked for any obstructions inside the printer?

Are you able to move the carriage freely?

Did it happen after a recent power surge or power outage?

In the meantime, let's try these steps here:

Perform a hard reset on the printer and make sure that the printer is connected directly to the wall outlet and not to the surge protector.

1) Remove all of your ink cartridges from the printer and close the door

2) Remove the power cord from the back of the printer (Do no press the power button)

3) Plug the power cord back into the printer

4) Wait for the printer to turn on completely, then install the ink cartridges.

5.) Use the steps available here to clear any possible carriage jam.

If your printer connected wirelessly, make sure to temporary connect the device with USB and then follow the link to install the latest firmware update on your printer from our HP support website. Alternatively you can also try to update the printer firmware directly from the printer control panel.

For more details on how to update, please use this link: HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware

Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance!

Eagerly waiting for your response!

Error cide oxc4eb8004.  The suggested remedy calls for removing the ink cartridges, but I am unable to do so because they are all the way to the right side.  I am also unable to turn off the printer.

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Let's try to reset the Printer here:

Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.

  1. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
  2. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  3. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  4. Wait at least 60 seconds.
  5. Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
  6. NOTE: HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet.
  7. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
  8. Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
  9. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

Also, try connecting the Printer to a different wall outlet directly.

Let me know if this helps.

HP Office Jet 5252  Error Code on initial start-up and all lights blinking.  I can do nothing to diagnose the problem.

I am unable to move the carriage.  The printer was plugged directly into the wall outlet.

@BrucieM

Reach inside the printer through the ink cartridge access door, and then manually move the carriage.

If the carriage is stuck on the right side of the printer, move the carriage to the left side of the printer.

If you are unable to do it, this could be a hardware issue.

I request you to talk to HP support.

They might have multiple options to help you with this.

  1. Click on this link - https://support.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp?openCLC=true
  2. Select the country.
  3. Enter the serial of your device.
  4. Select the country from the drop-down.
  5. Click on "Show Options".
  6. Fill the web-form. A case number and phone number will now populate for you.

I hope that helps.

To thank me for my efforts to help you, please mark my post as an accepted solution so that it benefits several others.

Cheers.
