Hp deskjet 3630
Mac OS X 10.9 Mavericks

I bought a HP DeskJet 3630 from argos yesterday, I set it up the today. I am having a problem with the (black 302 & colour 302) that came in the box with the product and the printer is only accepting the colour ink.  The error says 'The cartridges listed above are not intended for use in this printer as it is currently configured.' Please help

@tlynlyn

A very warm welcome to the HP community. A very good day to you.

I understand that you have a new HP DeskJet 3630 All-in-One Printer and the printer accepts only the color cartridge and not the black cartridge. There's an error stating "The cartridges listed above are not intended for use in this printer as it is currently configured." I read that these cartridges came with the printer in the box.

I would like to know your country if residence.

Meanwhile, I did some research and found the following information with respect to the cartridge compatibility:

If the cartridges you received are the right ones based on the region you are in then I suggest you to continue with the below steps for troubleshooting the issue:

  • Disconnect the power cable from the printer while the printer is still ON.
  • Disconnect any other cables if connected the printer.
  • Press and hold the printer’s power button for 15 seconds.
  • The printer should be directly connected to the wall outlet and not to a surge protector. Reconnect the power cable to print and the printer should power ON by itself. If the printer doesn’t power ON then please manually power it ON.

You may perform step 2 to step 6 as describe din detail from this link

I sincerely hope this fixes the issue. Please feel free to let me know. Good luck! 🙂
