HP Photosmart 2610 all-in-one

I just installed a new color ink cartridge into my HP Photosmart 2610 printer.  The screen on my printer is giving an Error message (Error - Remove and check color cartridge).  I did and it continues to provide me with the same message.  I can't tell if I'm installing the cartridge wrong or not.  It doesn't feel like I'm installing it incorrectly.  Any help is greatly appreciated.

Clean the contacts on the printer and the cartridge as shown in this document (for a different series, but similar technique.)

If that does not correct the issue then carefully examine the cartridge chute and make sure the x-bias spring has not become dislodged.  If the x-bias spring has become dislodged and punctured the flex circuitry as shown here then the printer will require service.  If the x-bias spring is dislodged but has not damaged the flex then it might be repaired with epoxy.  Compare the damaged side to the undamaged side to see how the spring should be held.
