HP F4280 All In One
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I went to the HP site to find the software for my printer/scanner.  I misplaced my orginal disk that came with it.  All I can find on the HP site is for F4200 series.  Is this suppose to work on the F4280???.  I uninstalled my current software and installed the one for the F4200 series.  It said installation complete/successful.  But I get error messages and tells me that I need to upgrade my software.  Is the F4200 and the F4280 the same software??????

I see from the post that you are having issues installing your HP DeskJet F4280 printer on your PC running Windows 7. Don't worry as I have a few steps to help you get through this concern,

To answer your question, F4200/F4224 are of the same series so it should work, However, I'm going to help you with the steps:

Let's try these steps here:

1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features

2.) Select your HP Printer

3.) Select Uninstall

4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers

5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose 'Delete' or 'Remove Device'

6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.

7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)

8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab

9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom

10.) Select Ok

11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows

12.) Close Devices and Printers

13 ). Restart the PC

14 ). Now click on this link: http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software11/COL30102/al-74858-1/DJ_AIO_03_F4200_NonNet_Full_Win_WW_130_... and install the updated printer drivers for this printer.

15 ). connect the USB cable only when prompted and follow the on-screen instructions on setting up the printer.

I hope this helps. Let me know how it goes for further assistance.

Let me know if those steps worked for you.

If they did, that’s awesome!
