Hi.
I was using my printer happily over wireless network for quite a while when suddenly the wireless connectivity stopped working. Since then, I have tried everything from resetting wireless defaults, using WPS to connect, to setting up my wireless networks with various security settings to simply removing security all together, to trying a new router - but it just wont connect! I have now fallen back to using it over USB with just one Mac (OS X Sierra)
I have tried printing network test page with shows Network name found as FAIL. Printing Network config page does show all the networks in the area including the one i would like to connect to, but cant.
I have also tried using HP Auto Wireless connect utility but it cant find any wireless printers.
Trying to "setup" the USB connected printer shows that its already setup.
I would like to give this a last shot by doing a full factory reset (printer touchscreen menu does not have this option).
Can you please share the steps.
Model: Photosmart Wireless B109n-z
FW version: TPM1FN0927AR
Driver version: HP Inkjet 8 Driver 4.2.5
Product number: Q8446C
Thanks

Hi @cooolster,
Thank you for showing your interest in HP Support Forums. It is a great place to find the help you need, from other users, HP experts, and other support personnel. For you to have the best experience on the HP forum, you could also visit our HP Forums Guide for the First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More.
I see from the post that you are having connectivity issues on your HP Photosmart printer. Don't worry as I have a few steps which should help you resolve this issue,
To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:
Did you make any changes to the printer before the issue started?
When was the last time it worked (date)?
What is the status of the Wireless light is it blinking or Steady?
In the meantime, let's try these steps here:
Please make sure that the printer is connected directly to the wall outlet and not to the surge protector.
Remove all the ink cartridges and then try to perform a hard reset on the printer.
With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
Remove USB cable, if present.
Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.
Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord and then plug back the power cord to the printer.
Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle.
Now insert the ink cartridges and then try to print a test page and check if it works.
On the printer control panel - Scroll down to Wireless - Under Wireless check for Wireless test, If available go ahead and run the test.
If this option is not available, I would suggest you try to follow the steps to perform a semi-full reset on the printer.
I am sending you a private message with the steps to reset the printer. Please check the mailbox icon at the top-right corner of this screen.

Hi,
Thanks for the reply. I cant see any PM with factory reset details.
Did you make any changes to the printer before the issue started? - No. The printer was stitched off for a while due to a relocation from one house to another
When was the last time it worked (date)? Cant remember but would have been several months ago.
What is the status of the Wireless light is it blinking or Steady? Steady.
Thanks

Thanks a lot. With your PM guidance, I managed to do the semi full reset. Unfortunately, i still cant get wireless network to connect 😞
After reset, and with USB disconnected, I have been able to connect my mac to the adhoc network hpsetup. However, when i printout the network cofiguration page, its shows printer IP as 0.0.0.0 and Network Status as offline. Hence there is no web server i can connect to with the browser. And HP utility just shows no printer when searching for one. What might i be doing wrong?
I guess i am in effect looking for steps to connect my printer to my mac over wireless, given the reset itself did not really fix the problem.
Regards

Hi @cooolster,
Thank you for replying,
I appreciate your time and efforts,
As I understand you are still having issues connecting the printer over wireless, don't worry we'll work together to find a solution for you,
Hard reset on the printer, router, computer and other devices on the same network.
The following steps temporarily disconnect network and Internet connections and require restarting your computer. Complete any tasks or downloads in progress before continuing.
1. Press the Power button on the printer to turn it off.
2. Disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
3. Disconnect the power cord from the wireless router.
4. Turn off the computer.
5. Wait for 30 seconds.
6. Reconnect the power cord to the wireless router.
7. Wait for 30 seconds, or until the router is fully on and ready
8. Turn the computer back on.
9. Wait for the computer to reload
10. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
11. Turn the printer back on.
Please go through the steps suggested in the support document for - HP Printers - Printer Not Found During Network Driver Setup (Mac) & HP Printers - 'Printer Offline' or 'Printer Not Responding' Message (Mac) - Click here
