M880

Hi

We have purchased the HP M880 and M725 MFP printers. We have replaced the fuser unit on an M880 but we need the engineer access code to reset the Fuser counter.

Does anybody kno what the factory access cose is, or can I reset it through the web portal?

Is this a new HP OEM fuser? If so, you should  contact HP for free troubleshooting or a warrantied replacement @1-800-334-5144. If you havn't already done so, you may try powering down the copier, unplugging it for 90 seconds, plug back up and power up, then print a supply status page from admin/reports and see if it reset.

Generally, the "maintenace kit" counter- which also includes the fuser will be reset by the fuser itself. If you purchased a rebuilt fuser, I would contact that company for a non-defective replacement.

I am not a HP employee. I am a service tech on these forums researching topics and offering my best guess to aide in your troubleshooting.

Hi no this is a geniune new HP Fuser, the printer keeps saying that the fuser has reached end of life, but that was the previous fuser, normally I have always found that you need to reset the counter. I will try the power down and see if it automatically resets
