My profile says "student", but this is for a business... I use the program with the issue for my daily work duties & desperately need a fix!!
I have a LaserJet Pro200 color MFP m276nw
Windows 7 64 bit
I am getting this message when I try to print from a program called Datatrac that is hosted online through Bluezone:
Error Message: Failed to create printer device context
I contacted Datatrac & their support said that it was an issue with HP... that the computer was the right type so it should work with their system.
I had an HP Deskjet 1300 on this computer before I switched to this new all in one. Not sure if an old file is conflicting, but I'm not sure how to fix it if that is the problem. The 1300 printed without any issues.
I just uninstalled every HP app on my computer & am starting from scratch... It just gave me the same error again.
I wanted to add, I checked the firewall... not blocking it. I have also shortened the printer name... didn't fix it.
Also, when I uninstalled & reinstalled it this morning, someone in the office on a network computer had sent a job to this new printer by mistake & when I reinstalled, it printed the job! So I know it can print from the program... it just isn't.
The jobs are actually printing when the computer first starts, until something on my computer blocks the internet app from connecting to the printer???

After spending HOURS yesterday trying to "fix" my firewall settings & creating network rules with no success, I decided that because the printer was connected to a WIFI router that the issue may be a part of this type of install. I finally got to the store today & bought a network wire & plugged it into the printer & then into our router and VOILA it printed. The printer itself has it's own internet security installed, so when the internet application that we used tried to print to it, the printer saw it as a virus, per say, and blocked the job from printing...
Thanks... (for nothing)... Thought I would post this for anyone else that may run into this issue.
