HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M281fdw
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

Hello,

my printer has firmware M280_Series_FW_Update-20211109. If I want to update the firmware to M280_Series_FW_Update-20211221 on the display "document is printing" is shown, the progress bar ends with the smiley but "document is printing" continues to be shown on the display. If I quit "document is printing" on the display "Fatal Error 200" is shown for a few seconds and the printer boots. After booting the firmware is still M280_Series_FW_Update-20211109.

Please help me.

Hi,

Is the printer connected via USB or through a network connection?

If it is connected to the network, try accessing the Setup menu and select Service, then select HP Laserjet Update and click on Check Now to see if you may able to update the printer using its screen.
