Whenever I start up my printer, and I want to print, I see the message "the carriage is stalled" and the Power and Resume buttons are blinking, while the cartridges orange lights are turned on. So I click on the Resume button, and then it prints fine.
Then if I print another page later, it works fine.
But if I turn off the printer and turn it back on, the same problem reappears.

This problem started to appear after I followed the instructions on this article: http://www.ehow.com/how_6067166_reset-expired-hp-print-cartridge.html

Because I had an expired cartridge and I refilled it.

The reason we ask your Operating system in all post in due to the fact that I want provide you with detailed suggestion and in other to accomplish some of the instructions that we will provide are operating system dependent or different in different versions of the OS, in short words if you want me to guide thru the process I will need the operating system, the version and the intructiosn width (32 or 64 bits)

  • What is the complete printer model of your printer?

Some printer models have as much as 6 different versions is important to know which version exactly do you own in order for me to provide accurate links for your product If you are having issues with your finding the complete version of your product please visit this site. http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/bpy21016

Also try to reset the printer with any of this 2 proccess;

Performing a power reset of the mobile printer
Follow these steps to perform a power reset.

  4. Plug the power cord into the product and reinstall any battery.
  5. Press the Power ( ) button to turn on the product. Wait for the Power () button to stop blinking.
    NOTE:The power button remains on even after it stops blinking.
    The product is now reset.

    Power Reset

I did the soft reset and it worked fine. But a few hours later, the same problem reappeared.

I started the Hardware Diagnostic tool and this error message came up: "we're sorry, but the Officejet H470 is not currently supported by this utility".
