Gateway address not accessible

HP Recommended
HP OfficeJet 6978
macOS 10.12 Sierra

This printer is brand new, I cannot seem to get the Gateway Address to work. I've tried everything (or so i think). Basically when I got to print, it gets stuck in the queu and won't print.  Also, the printer won't show up on my iphone when i attempt to print is shows "No Airprint Printers found"

please advise...this is my 3rd HP printer and i'm more than frustrated by this.

thanks!!

Turn off IPv6 in the printer.

You do realize that your Gateway address is your routers address right?
