I have a Laserjet 1022 but cannot check the toner cartridge level. I don't seem to have a Toolbox installed but the pc with the 1022 is running Visa and there may not be one available anyway. On my 1320 you can print the configuration page by holding the green button for 5 secs and this includes the current toner info but the similar report from the 1022 does not include that bit of info. Ca anyone advise? Thanks.

Experiencing this same issue.  Can't seem to find any way to check toner level on this printer.  Configuration page does not show toner level like most of our other laserjet printers here in the office.  Searching the web says you should be able to check it under the 'service' tab in printer properties but that does not exist.  If anyone knows how to check the toner level please advise.  Otherwise I guess we'll just wait until the print quality starts to fade and replace at that point.  Hard to believe HP wouldn't provide a way to check this.

Hi furdog,

I understand that you are wanting to check the current toner levels of your printer. With regards to your printer, one option is:

1. Click Start

2. Click Devices and Printers

3. Right click on the Laserjet 1022

4. Click Printer Properties

5. Click the General Tab

6. Click Print Test Page

The other option if your printer is network or wireless connected, you can check the EWS (Embedded Web Server). To do this you would need the IP address of the printer first. To view the EWS I have included the User Guide and the best page to look at would be 29.

Please let me know if this resolves your issue, thank you.
