HP 3050A Copy-Print-Scan
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I've got an HP 3050A Printer which has generally been working fine until a couple of weeks ago. I print a document or photo on the computer, but the printer does not seem to respond. The printer is definitely connected my wifi network as both the blue and white light is present on the machine when it is on (I use it wirelessly). About a month ago, I got a new router, and reconnected the printer to it using a USB cable between the printer and my laptop and reinstalling and setting up the drivers and software for it. The printer is definitely connected to the new wifi network, and so is the computer. When I run 'HP AiO Printer Remote' on my computer to check the printer's status, it labels it as 'disconnected'.

The only way to temporarily fix this problem is to reboot the router, although this is inconvinient and repetitive. When I do this, the printer reconnects and you can print, but a couple of hours later, the problem occurs again. The printer worked fine with my previous wifi network, so I believe it could be something do with my new one or with setup problems. However, everything else network-wise works perfectly.

Thanks for any support! :generic:

Welcome to the HP Forums. I would be happy to help you with your HP Deskjet 3050A printer. I understand you’re your printer does not maintain wireless connection and you have already done some preliminary troubleshooting.

Don't worry though as I have a few steps to determine the issue and find a solution as well,

  • Restart the computer, printer, and router.
  • Run the HP Print and Scan Doctor.
  • Update the printer firmware.
  • Assign a manual IP address to your printer.

Click here to refer the document and perform troubleshooting steps to fix this issue.

If the issue is resolved and you appreciate my help,

Please click the "Accept as Solution" button and the "Thumbs Up".

Let me know how you make out.

Cheers.

Thanks for the response.

-The printer drivers are updated fully.

-I've connected to the printer via it's IP address on my browser, it connects but it gives me errors whenever I attemp to edit data: the connection is not secure and I recieve 'internal system error' on my screen.

-The HP Scan and Print Doctor did successfully and quickly print out a test page, but there are still documents printed by me on the printer queue which have not been printed out despite having been there for over a day. I try restarting the print on the print queue window, but this does nothing and then gives me some printing failiure error.

-I've restarted everything countless times, but usually makes no difference, although occasionally when I restart the router, the printer prints out one out of the 5 documents on the print queue, but does not print out any others. It's as if the printer just prints something out whenever it feels like, and doesn't respond when I actually need it to print.

To be honest, I've never had a good past with HP products, it's as if they fail on me all the time. However though, a few weeks ago the printer was working fine.

I've done everything you said, but unfortunately nothing worked. Thanks for the help though 🙂
