Hi

I am trying to print pdfs in full bleed on my printer, however, there is always a fading of the ink on the edge of the page when printed. It's as if the print is faded where there would have originally been a border. I am printing on 300gsm card stock.

Am i using the wrong settings? I usually select the paper to be plain paper and the colour that comes out is mostly very good and vibrant (except for the border). I tried selecting photo paper (just to see how it comes out) but the colour of the whole print comes out very faded so I'm assuming thats the wrong setting for cardstock.

I've downloaded the latest driver for my printer, cleaned the cartidges and aligned them too.

Does anyone know why this happens?

Hi! @Peggykan, Welcome to HP forums.

I understand when you print the edges fade on your printer.

Don't worry I will try to help you out.

Did you make any changes to your printer?

Have you tried making a copy from your printer? Does the issue persist?

Are you printing the card stock from ADF?

You have to Load card stock in the main input tray only. Card stock is not compatible for use with the ADF for single- or double-sided printing.

The supported card stock by your printer is.

Paper type
Paper size
A4 index card
210 x 297 mm (8.3 x 11.7 inches)
Index card
76 x 127 mm (3.0 x 5.0 inches)
Index card
101 x 152 mm (4.0 x 6.0 inches)
Index card
127 x 203 mm (5.0 x 8.0 inches)
Index Card Letter
200 x 148 mm (7.8 x 5.8 inches)
Japanese postcard
100.1 x 148.1 mm (3.94 x 5.83 in)
O**bleep**u Hagaki*

I'll keep an eye out for your response.

I hope you have a great day! 🙂

Hi

Thank you for your reply.

No I haven't made any changes to it, it's also the first time I've tried to print borderless prints onto cardstock.

I'm not sure my printer has an ADF?

I put the paper or cardstock into the vertical stand.

@Peggykan, It's great hearing back from you. I was waiting for your response.

I appreciate your efforts for trying out the steps.

I have checked the printer specifications even though you print borderless from your printer.

There will be 3 mm (0.12 inch) margins gap when you print so you see faded edges when you print.

Refer the printer specifications page for more information.

Have a pleasant day ahead! 🙂
