I have the same problem as other people on this site. The printer is full of ink with genuine hp cartridges. I have done all the troubleshooting tips and hints but the printer will still not print any black. The printer is hp photosmart 5524 and is out of warranty. Advice would be gratefully received as I really don't want to buy another new printer, especially when I have 4 cartridges full of ink and don't have money to throw away
thank you

I understand you have a Photosmart 5524 that is not printing black after changing the cartridges. I'm sorry to hear that, but I will definitely do my best to assist you with this.
I'm aware you've most likely completed all of these steps, but I just want you to verify that you've tried all of the steps within this Printer Does Not Print Black Ink or Color Ink, or Prints Blank Pages document. Hi @J5baker,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums 🙂
For you to have the best experience on the HP forum, you could also visit our HP Forums Guide for First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More.
I see from the post that you have a Photosmart 5524 printer that is not printing black after installing the new cartridges.
Don't worry, we'll take care of this together 😉
HP recommends that you use genuine HP ink or toner supplies. HP cannot guarantee the quality or reliability of non-HP or refilled cartridges. If you do not use genuine HP cartridges, the steps in this document might not resolve the issue. To check the authenticity of your cartridges, go to hp.com/go/anticounterfeit.
Let's try these steps here:
1. Make sure that the ink cartridges are properly vented and seated correctly.
2. Clean the printhead
3. Service the printer
