HP 6978

We just got a new HP 6978 less than a month ago.  It is already time to change out the ink cartridges.  However, the ink cartridges don't automatically move to the left into the access area.  No where can we find a video to troubleshoot such a problem.  We have shut down & turned back on the system three times.  We have ensured that the scanning lid is closed tightly.  We have ensured that there is no paper jam.  Help!

@pakratnomore, welcome to HP Forums, this is a great place to get support, find answers and tips.
Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you out.

I understand that you are unable to replace the cartridges from your HP OfficeJet Pro 6978 All-in-One Printer as the carriage does move to the cartridge access area.

Don't worry as I have a few steps that should help fix this issue.

This issue could occur if there is any obstruction in the carriage access path.

And here's the step by step guide for you in the link: Carriage Jam

Let me know how that works.
I hope you have a good day ahead.
