My scan to email "suddenly" stopped working last week.

I managed to solve the problem, and wanted to share:

I am using Gmail, and here's the problem and solution.

In the past, I've been using the default SMTP port, 25.  Apparently this no longer works.  Now you have to use port 465, the secure port.

To do this:

go to the printer's Embedded Web Server  (see beginning of thread for instructions if you don't know how to do this) - thanks "Wireless Guy"

Select the "Scan" tab

Menu on left, select Scan to Email/Outgoing Email Profiles

Edit the email profile that's not working

Go to Step 2. Here you need to verify the SMTP Server name and SMTP Port

SMTP port:  465

Check "Always use secure connection (SSL/TSL)"

Continue through the steps and SAVE.

Again this sovled my problem for Gmail accounts.  But hope it help you solve your similar issue.

Make sure you are not connected using the USB or wireless connection. Scan to email and the other options can only be used with a wired Ethernet cable to your router.
