I'm not sure what happened first.  I was in the process of writing email, noticed the HP Audio Switch on, tried to cancel it didn't happened.  Looked up how to merge outlooi/mail everything just froze up.  Before it happened,  I was in the process of trying to get support help that's when everything froze.

Tried to delete, exit, miminize nothing. This is what was on the startup screen had printer icon,  shop for supplies, recycle bin.  Not sure if I explained it correctly.

i need some serious help.

Thanks for posting the issue.

I found a answer from Microsoft Blog.

To those of you who have this same problem, just do the following:

1. Right-click the home button (the Windows logo)

2. Select Task Manager

3. Scroll down until you see "HP Audio Switch"

4. Select it and click "End Task"

The box should disappear

Click on the "Thumbs up"button on the bottom to say "Thanks"

Thanks for the info but I too found the same solution it doesn't work for me.  HP Audio Switch is still highlighted although it is not showing up on the list.  All the same information is still frozen.
