I've just replaced my 5 year old HP Laptop windows 7 PC with a new windows 7 laptop.
I am unable to get out HP B110 printer driver to load the drivers... bear in mind this is a wireless printer, the USB aspect is irrelevent... but seemingly not to the HP driver.
The HP printer driver was downloaded last weekend from HP so it must be up to date.
Suggestions please.
Thanks

Welcome to the HP Forums 🙂
I would like to take a moment and thank you for using this forum, it is a great place to find answers.
As I understand you need installing the HP B110 printer on your new laptop (congratulations for the new PC) 😉
And Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:
Did you download the printer drivers using the CD sent along with the printer or from the HP Website?
Have you connected a USB cable to the printer for initial printer setup?
While I respond to that, here's a few things you can do:
Here's the link to the Official HP website: Click here to download
How do I change from a USB setup to a wireless setup?
The printer software contains a utility that allows you to easily switch from a USB connection to a wireless connection. Use the following instructions to run the USB to Wireless utility.
-
Open the USB to Wireless utility.
-
Windows XP
Click Start, click All Programs, click HP, click Photosmart D110 series, and then click USB to Wireless.
-
Windows Vista or Windows 7
Click the Windows icon (
), click All Programs, click HP, click Photosmart D110 series, and then click USB to Wireless.
-
Windows 8
Right-click the Start button (
) in the lower left corner of the screen, and then click Search. Type USB in the Search box, and then click USB to Wireless.
NOTE: If you have more than one HP printer installed on the system, make sure that the name of the printer you want to change shows at the top of the USB to Wireless window. If it does not, close the window and repeat the above steps to find the correct utility.
-
-
Follow the on-screen instructions to finish installing the software.
Step one: Prepare for installation
-
Make sure that you have the following requirements before you begin:
-
Network: Before you can install the printer, your wireless network must already be set up. (To set up your network, follow the instructions that came with your router or access point.)
If you set up device filtering on your access point, and need to find the IP or MAC address of your HP product, see Additional Information at the end of this document.

So after viewing many threads on here, a Microsoft website and others I stumbled across a reference to USBreader.exe which turned out to be the fix:
http://www.freefixer.com/library/file/usbready.exe-45308/
HP should publicise this to save other poor users wasting many hours......

Thank you for the update,
I appreciate your time and efforts,
I'm glad you found the solution you were looking for,
However, that said, HP doesn't recommend using such 3rd party tools to removing files or programs as it may remove system files causing OS malfunction.
(You may do so at your own discretion, also this should explain why HP does not / would not publicize such websites).
I recommend you identify the recently installed programs on your own, by uninstalling them one by one to identify and resolve such issues,
After running the anti-malware or anti-spyware scans on your entire computer.
Thanks for taking the time to let the community know about the solution
You've been great to work with and it has been a genuine pleasure interacting with you.
I hope both you and your product works great and remain healthy for a long time 😉

I found the reference to the USBREADER.EXE on another HP forum thread....
And for what its worth the HP B110 we have STILL loses contact with the wifi on almost a daily basis . HO have never fixed the problem and in the 6 years we've had the printer, we've had 4 different routers .... so its DEFINITELY an HP issue.
Poor products from a company who doesn't care .......... about delivering customer service.

Thank you for replying,
I understand it could be frustrating to know that the solution you've utilized isn't authorized or supported by HP, however, as mentioned before, I'm glad you've got the USBREADER.EXE issue taken care off and your post will help others using this forum and hence, I appreciate the same.
That said, you haven't mentioned about the printer not maintaining the wireless connection up until this post, so I'm not sure how I could have helped you with an issue I'm not made aware of! (I don't intend to sound rude, just stating the facts).
If you need help with the issue related to the printer not maintaining a wireless connection, try the below steps:
Step 1: Restart the computer, printer, and router
Restart the computer, printer, and router to resolve any connectivity error states.
Step 2: Run the HP Print and Scan Doctor (Windows only)
HP provides a free tool called HP Print and Scan Doctor to diagnose and resolve printing and scanning problems. Download and run HP Print and Scan Doctor to quickly and automatically perform several troubleshooting tasks known to resolve this issue. When this link is clicked, HP Print and Scan Doctor is downloaded using your Internet browser's download capabilities.
Step 3: Check the status of the wireless connection
Check the status of the light next to the Wireless icon on the printer control panel, and then choose a section below.
Step 4: Evaluate a Wireless Network Test Results page
Evaluate a Wireless Test Network Test Results page to identify any wireless network problems.
Step 5: Minimize wireless channel interference
If several other networks use the same channel or adjacent channels to your network, there might be interference between the networks. For example, wireless channels are similar to radio stations. If two radio stations are too close together, one station interferes with the other, and you hear one station better than the other. For home wireless networks, the only channels that do not overlap (or interfere with each other) are 1, 6, and 11. Channels 2, 3, 4, and 5 all overlap at least a little with channels 1 and 6, but channels 1, 6, and 11 do not interfere with each other.
