Hi, I already have the same problem every time a start my printer that makes the test paper. For me, my solution was that everytime I started my printer, I press the cancel botton and the test paper stop to print, so I save ink and some time doesn"t print the first test paper. That was the solution for me, I now is a pain in the ass, everytime, when I started the printer press the cancel botton, but what can I do.
Start printer, wait 5 seconds press Cancel botton, Good luck.
I hope that help you.

Although it's quite an old post but I thought I might as well post the reply coz I found this chain while trying to fix the same problem for me.
Apparently. it's a procedure with which HP requests you to align a newly loaded cartridge. Just put the test page on scanner screen and scan it. HP will align the cartridge and stop printing the test page for you. Hope this solves the problem for anyone else looking for the solution.
Cheers,
Vaibhav

Full of crap. I tried all of that for over 2 hrs, wasted almost two cartridges of ink, paper to boot and it still does the same thing with the test page being being printed out every time I start the printer. That will be the last HP printer I ever buy. Fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice shame on me.
