Hi,

Reseated the printhead and all the ink cartridges but the same error appeared. Performed the firmware update, still encountering the error. upon viewing the ink status on the EWS, only the black ink cartridge status is "ink sensor warning".  tried replacing the black ink cartridge but the same exact problem is encountered. accessed also the error log on the machine and found this error [1] 26:10 Generic Ink Supply failure, corrective action: Retry, replace cartridges; [2] 26:10 Ink Sensor detected unexpected OOI Corrective action: Retry, restart, replace cartridges or carriage board.

will this be resolved if the printhead  is replaced with a new one? just making sure.

Thanks!

Suggest you look for instructions for removing the printhead and check for any leaks. If leaks are found clean the contacts on both the printhead and the carriage assembly with a dry lint free cloth. Reinsert the printhead and replace any leaky cartridges and see if the printer prints. If not most times it means you need to replace the carriage assembly and trailing cable. I would do a google search for the service manual which has a wealth of information on your situation and tests you can perform.

Hi,

Have you replaced the printhead?

Best regards

That is actually  my question, Mike, will it be resolved if the printhead is replaced?. The machine is out of warranty already and the customer have to purchase the needed part/s.

Thanks

Hi, i have tried removing the printhead manually, cleaned its contacts as well as the carriage's, but then the same problem appeared. will it be resolved if the printhead is replaced?

As I said in my previous post do a google search for the service manual and follow the instructions of what to do when you get the error. There is no guarantee replacing anything will solve the issue but following the recommended procedures in the manual and order of replacement will give you the best shot at getting it repaired.
