Designjet 430

I have a 15 year old HP Designjet 430, it will load a roll of paper just fine but will not load a roll of mylar, goes through all the motions then spits it out in the end. This problem just started about halfway through the roll of mylar. Anyone have suqqestions?

The mylar should have a white strip on each side. Does it? If it does then the led sensor in the carriage assembly is probably wearing down and can not read the strip right.

A visable white strip? I've never seen a white strip on my rolls of mylars, I've been using the same kind for years and it was loading this same roll a few weeks ago...but maybe it is the sensor. Thanks.

See the link below and look at the edges of the media.

Thanks. No, it does not look like that. None of the rolls I have ever used have looked like that.  Someone else mentioned the led sensor too, so maybe that is it.
