Deskjet 1050 J410
Linux

I would like to start cleaning cartridge printheads and because I use Linux system I cannot do it from system. So I'm looking for maintenance code to do so.

So far I have fount such Codes:

Hold power button, press cancel button once, release power button - prints diagnostic page.

Hold power button, press cancel button three times, press color copy button eight times, release power button - cleans cartridge print smears

Hold power button, press cancel button three times, press color copy button seven times, release power button - clean paper tray

Hold power button, press black copy button eight times, release power button - printer prints pages filled with "H" character until cancelled (I have discovered this one by accident)

So what code will start cleaning of printheads?

@sebastian3000, welcome to HP Support Forums. 🙂 I came across your post and understand that you have an HP DeskJet 1050- J410 printer and would like to clean the cartridge printheads using buttons code combination. I see that this printer uses two cartridges which are black and tri color. Usually, for such printers, there is a software tool through wich the cleaning process is initiated. Unlike other printers which use 4 to 5 cartridges and those printers have a menu using which the printhead can be cleaned.

The only other way to clean the cartridges in this printer is by cleaning them manually as shown in "Step 12" in this link: http://hp.care/2eNRtPe. Feel free to get in touch with us for any further questions. Cheers!
