Hello
My printer is 7 years old at least, but I really like it. I used to be able to scan documents with it, but I seem to have lost that function. I would like to know if it would be possible to retrieve the scan function.
Many thanks

Hi,
You should be able to scan, could you please let me know you are getting any error message on the printer while trying to scan.
Also please check if you are able to make a copy, if yes then the scanner is working.
Will troubleshoot for other causes.

Hi,
You can use this diagnostic tool to fix scanning issue.

Thank you Alyssa for your message
There is no message error. The copy button works so the scan function should work too. However, I seem to remember I used to have an application on my laptop and from there I could choose 'scan' document. That application has disappeared and I don't know where to find it. Since that time, I can't scan documents....
I can see another user has given me a link to a fixing tool. Let's see if that can help

Hi MaureenLL,
Great to know that the scanner is working now.
HP icon is the shortcut for the HP doagnstic tool which you used.
You can remove it if you no longer require it, just delete it.
But the software will still remain in your computer, if you want to use it at a later stage.
Thanks,
Alyssa
