Hello everyone.
It appears that after updating to the latest version of macOS (10.12.3) my printer driver version hasn't changed (Version 2.0).
Can anyone confirm that this is the latest version for an HP ENVY 4500 series printer?
I've not seen any updates appear in the software update pane.
Thanks in advance!

Hello, @Willie15 – Hope you are well 🙂
Thank you for engaging in HP Support Forums! I would like to help you with the printer issue!
I understand you recently updated to MAC Sierra. Are you facing any sorts of printing or scanning issues after the update? If so, I would recommend the printer driver update as well.
Follow the steps below to uninstall the old printer drivers and then install the new drivers:
- Uninstall the old printer drivers first. Follow the steps mentioned here: http://hp.care/2cKwLyC
- Now run the Apple Software Update. Check here for steps: http://hp.care/2cNgw3C
- Restart your computer and printer.
- Click the Apple menu icon, and then click “System Preferences”.
- Click “Printers and Scanner” / “Print and Scan” or “Print and Fax”.
- Right-click the blank space in the Printers list, and then click “Reset printing system”.
- Click “Reset” in the confirmation window.
- Enter an administrator username and password, and then click “OK”.
- Wait until the printing system is reset and no devices show in the Printers list
- Now click http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/HP_Quick_Start/osx/Applications/HP_Easy_Start.app.zip to download and install the printer driver.
- In the “Add printer” window, make sure you add the printer as mentioned below:
- Click the “Add button” (+).
- Find, and then select the name of your printer from the printer list, and then click “Add” to add your printer.
- Click “Print Using...”, and then select the name of your printer (By default “Airprint” would be selected)
Let me know if that helps!
Good luck 🙂

Thanks for the reply and instructions.
I've not had any problems with printing since my upgrade to macOS Sierra, however, I now have to use Image Capture in order to scan documents. I can't seem to get the printer to automatically send an image from the printer's menu like I could before.
That is why I asked if my driver version was up to date.
I had assumed that any updates would either appear in the Apple Software Updates, or that my printer would notify me that one was available.
Once again, thanks for your instructions.

Hello, @Willie15
Thanks for the update!
I would suggest using the HP Easy Scan app to perform scanning on your Envy Machine. Go to http://hp.care/2cXZaB1 to download and install the HP Easy Scan.
Open the app once done and then try to scan.
Let me know how that goes!
Thank you again and may you also have a great day and even better tomorrow 🙂
