HP ENVY 5540
Microsoft Windows Vista

This morning my HP ENVY 5540 showed Error Code 0XB8000 618.

I restarted the printer and everything seemed to be fine. But on a recent print job, the printer printed the first few pages, and the remaining pages came out blank.

What does the error code mean?

What is the "fix" for this error?

Hi SteveNew,

The OXB error messages are some kind of internal error of the printer.  There are several that can occur.

You did the right thing by resetting the printer.

I dont' have any kind of list of what the error codes mean.  The only fix is to reset the printer.

Here is the documentation that exists on those errors:

http://support.hp.com/us-en/product/HP-ENVY-5540-All-in-One-Printer-series/5447939/document/c0048981...

I'm not sure the blank pages are related to the error - but they could be.

If the error reoccurs reset the printer again.  If the error keeps happening - your printer may be broken and will need to be replaced.

I'm sorry I don't have more information.  I hope the error does not happen again.
