I've been using the printer for a couple of years with no issues. Went to try and print something and got an error message saying printing failed. I've uninstalled and reinstalled "Full Feature Software" from HP wesite and run HP Scan Doctor Multiple (10) times. I can print from other devices including desktops, MACs, my phone....all wireless. Tried via USB cable to my laptop, NOTHING. Still when I go to Settings, Devices and Printers; the printer is there and the only thing that looks unusual to me is the Status say "Driver is unavailable"
Computer is a Toshiba Satellite L875 running Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi @Davo0808,
Thanks for reaching out to the forums. Good Day! I reviewed the post regarding the printer not working on this computer. I’ll be delighted to assist you with this.
You are a valued HP customer and we appreciate you greatly for doing business with HP. I have reviewed the situation and it is paramount that we address your issue. Superb and brilliant diagnosis of the issue were done before posting.
- Did this happen after a software or windows update?
It looks like an issue only with this specific computer’s operating system.
Please uninstall the printer drivers by following these steps
- In Windows, search for and open Programs and Features.
- Select your HP printer.
- Select Uninstall.
- In Windows, search for and open Devices and Printers.
- In the Devices and Printers window look for your HP Printer. If you see it listed, right-click on it and choose "Delete" or "Remove Device.”
- Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo.
- Type printui.exe /s and click OK.
- Click on Drivers tab.
- Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it click on it and click Remove at the bottom.
- Select OK.
- Remove all instances of the same.
- Select Apply and OK on the Print Server Properties windows.
- Close Devices and Printers.
Then please reinstall the full feature software from this link and check if resolves the issue
Please keep me posted. I will keep a watch for your reply. Please perform all the steps diligently and patiently as this should do the trick for you.
Otherwise, please backup all your files and reinstall windows on this computer. Then install the full feature printer software from the same link. That should do the trick for you.
Hope this helps. Let me know how this goes. I genuinely hope the issue gets resolved without hassles and the unit works great. 🙂 Please reach out for any issues and I'll be there to assist you. 🙂
