Hi All
I am trying to figure out how to use this printer to print on card stock. The specifications indicated that it can handle up to 300 gsm and I am using 100lb card stock paper to print cards.
I only have 5 options available to me under the settings for paper type - plain paper, recycled plain paper, photo paper, specialty paper glossy and specialty paper matte. I've tried to print under all of these settings one-by-one but the card stock gets jammed everytime. I also only put in one piece of card stock at a time, and only try to print one project at a time.
If someone knows how to resolve this issue, it would be greatly appreciated!

If your 100lb card stock is "Cover" stock, it is (for example) 271 gsm.
Too heavy for the printer.
Printer handles "Card" paper to 53lb (110 lb Index)
GSM Bond Index
176 GSM | 47 lb | 97 lb |
190 GSM | 51 lb | 105 lb |
199 GSM | 53 lb | 110 lb |
203 GSM | 54 lb | 113 lb |
The "300 gsm" is for photo paper only - the two Media type selections are not interchangeable.
The Specifications are somewhat complete for the product.
And for the same printer (different resource):
Media Sizes Custom (imperial) | Simplex:3x5 to 8.5x14; Duplex:3 x 5.5 to 8.5 x 12.2 in |
Media Sizes Custom (metric) | Simplex: 76.2 x 127 mm to 216x594mm; Duplex: 76.2 x 127 mm to 216x594mm |
Media Types | Plain Paper; HP Photo Papers; HP Matte Brochure or Professional Paper; HP Matte Presentation Paper; HP Glossy Brochure or Professional Paper; Other Photo Inkjet Papers; Other Matte Inkjet Papers; Other Glossy Inkjet Papers; Plain Paper, Light/Recycled |
Media Weight Recommended (imperial) | 20 lb |
Media Weight Recommended (metric) | 75 g/m² |
Media Weights Supported, By Paper Path (Imperial) | Letter: 16 to 24 lb; HP envelopes: 20 to 24 lb; HP cards: up to 53 lb; HP 4 x 6 inch photo paper: up to 80 lb |
Media Weights Supported, By Paper Path (metric) | A4: 60 to 90 g/m²; HP envelopes: 75 to 90 g/m²; HP cards: up to 200 g/m²; HP 10 x 15 cm photo paper: up to 300 g/m² |
Disclaimer: I don't have MacOS and cannot explain why the full complement of Media types are not available in your application. For example, (inkjet) HP Brochure Matte = 180 gsm - this Media type can substitute for HP Index Card in some cases where the card paper is not at the top of the weight limitation for "card".
