printer working fine from a laptop until about 12 months ago when we updated the sopftware on the lap top and now the printer and laptop dont get along. The printer works from other wireless devices. I have printed 400 alignement pages and uninstalled the printer entirely and re installed it at least 5 times, I have unplugged it, cleaned it, replaced ink, used the HP doctor scanning and troubleshooting help apps and pages on and offline at least 7000 times. I have resinstalled up to date software as per the HP scan doctor and looked on line for solutions and asked friends and still, the previously perfect printer is pretty much useless unless I email a document to my ipad and print it from there. Please help. I literallt cannot get it to print from the laptop

I'm having the same problem. The printer was working fine until I got an updated gateway router from my ISP and now every time I want to print I have to uninstall and reinstall the printer because it goes offline when it finishes the print job. Everything is current and up to date, it prints great from my Mac but not from my Windows 10 PC.

Welcome to HP Support Forums. 🙂 I came across your post and would like to help.
I understand that you have an HP ENVY 4500 e-All-in-One Printer and it appears to be offline post updating the laptop. The prints prints from other wireles devices. I appreciate the steps you have performed and have certainly done a good job.
I recommend you to perform the following steps to isolate the issue and arrive at a fix:
- Let us uninstall the existing printer drivers from root level and then reinstall the drivers.
- In Windows, search for and open Programs and Features.
- Select your HP printer.
- Select Uninstall.
- In Windows, search for and open Devices and Printers.
- In the Devices and Printers window look for your HP Printer. If you see it listed, right-click on it and choose "Delete" or "Remove Device.”
- Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo.
- Type printui.exe /s and click OK.
- Click on Drivers tab.
- Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it click on it and click Remove at the bottom.
- Select OK.
- Select Apply and OK on the Print Server Properties windows.
- Close Devices and Printers.
Once you have perfomed the abive steps, please download and install the drivers from this link: www.hp.com/drivers
If issue persists then please perform the steps mentioned under "Manual steps to solve the problem" from this link: http://hp.care/2c8ePwu
I sincerely hope this fixes the issue. Keep me posted. All the best! 🙂

Welcome to HP Support Forums. 🙂 I came across your post and would like to help.
I understand that you have an HP ENVY 4500 e-All-in-One Printer and ever snce yo uhave changed the router, the printer needs to be reinstalled ech time to make it print. I read that the printer works fine from the Mac. Fabulous analysis. Spectacular diagnosis of the issue before posting. Kudos to you for that.
Since the printers prints from a Mac, this indicates that the printer is connected to the network. In this case I suggest you perform the steps listed under "Manual steps to solve the problem" and "Step 5: Create a manual connection (network connections only)" from this link: http://hp.care/2c8ePwu
Feel free to let me know how it goes. Cheers! 🙂
