My printer won't print black. When I set a page to print in black + white, it makes the noises like it's printing but every page comes out blank.

I just replaced the cartridge thinking that was the problem but no change.

Taking out the black cartridge to print black using the color cartridge works but is not a long-term solution.

Welcome to HP Forums @allieyy,

Thanks for the post.

I see you are facing a print quality issue with your printer where you are unable to print in black.

Don't worry, I will be glad to help.

Have you tried to make a copy in black?

What is the operating system installed on the computer?

Have you tried different applications to print?

Are you able to print in color?

Are you using genuine HP ink?

Recommend you to make a copy and check if the copy comes out fine.

Clean the cartridges and perform an alignment on the printer.

If the issue persists, try a different cartridge.

Perform an alignment on the new cartridge.Refer to Solution 3 in this article

Even with the new cartridge, if you are facing the same issue, please contact our phone support for the service options.
