I've tried everything on this page, and I'm still getting blank pages...

Same issue here and absolutely no changes made recently to the printer or laptop. I was printing an Excel spreadsheet and it suddenly printed mostly blank pages but some had a few small blocks of colour. I thought HP we're reliable and had good longevity so I'm really annoyed.

I reset to factory default using the digital input. Searched the machine for a reset button with no joy. Does hard reset mean locate and press a reset button? If so if someone can tell me where this is located this would be helpful.

I am having the same issues with no luck of fixing and the "Click the easy button" or "Clean the cartridges" answer is frankly quite annoying when most people have tried that before searching out online help. Some reason or another this printer just stopped functioning after moderate printing and with ink still available. Did anyone find anything that helped?

Not yet. I guess that version of the printer is just a bummer for HP and I had to bear the cost. I will try to reach out to HP support and ask to replace it. Not sure if they are ready to do that. I will repost if I see a resolution

Excellent, yes please respond with whatever you find!

UPDATE! FIX FOUND!

Ok I have been working on fixing this myself because HP doesn't seem to care that much.  Here is what you can do:

1. Open up Printers and Scanners in the control panel.

2. Select the HP Envy 4520 printer and select either "Manage" or Properties. You want to be editing the Printer Properties.

3. You will see a screen like this,

4. Click on "New Driver" and you will click next and select check windows update.

5.  I will check windows update which will take a minute or two and then you will select HP from the left screen and scroll down to find "HP ENVY 5000 series PCL-3"

6. Click next to install. Once that's done it will show on the previous screen (The first picture I posted).

I tested this and it works for me. Let me know if it works for you.

I was so hopeful! I have a different setup though, and I wasn't sure how to assign that driver specifically to the printer.. It won't let me click 'apply' and the properties aren't helpful either. Hmmm

Oh, I got it assigned, but it didn't work 😞

When you look at the printer properties does it say the 5000 driver is selected? I am still testing this and it worked fine in color mode but black and white for some reason it started not printing out the black text. Can you confirm the same thing happens to you? I will keep working on it!

HP Recommended

It does say the 5000 driver is selected now. I changed my document to color, and it printed a thick not-straight line of dark blue, which is more than it has been printing, but it didn't print anything else...
