I have all the recent windows updates and my computer will not scan using the scan to computer function on the scanner. This was working before.  My comuter is connected via USB port. I have changed the USB cable and it still does not work. It allows me to select the option to scan to USB but then can't send the scan to windows. However if I use the HP printer assistant application that was installed with the printer the computer can ask the scanner to scan and it work fine.

Hi,

Thanks for using the HP Forums.

How to Scan to Computer

Once you have installed the software:

1. Click on the printer Icon (on your desktop) and it will bring up the HP Printer Assistant.
2. Under the Scan menu, there is a “Manage Scan to Computer”, click on that.
3. Make sure that you “Enable” Scan to Computer. Also make sure the tab “Automatically start Scan to Computer when I log on to Windows” is checked if you want to make this feature permanent. (the following video will show you how)

Scan to Computer

If it's not working, would suggest that you Uninstall and Reinstall the FULL feature software and then try to enable Scan to Computer again.

Hope that helps!

Hi,

Thanks for the advice. According to the video the Scan to computer feature should be automatically enabled as it connected via usb. How can I check this as there is no option in the driver app.

Hi @djamos71

Go to your priner front panel and select "Scan to Computer"

Your Computer should be listed (if you have installed the FULL feature software and connected via USB)

Hope that helps!
