My laptop which is a HP Z book, says I am connected to the internet and lets me surf, but the wireless printer keeps flashing purple with a while light in the middle and has been trying to connect for the past hour it seems! The wi-fi light on the printer is also blinking.
The HP smart app says the printer is offline on my laptop and unavailable on my iPhone. What should I do?

Hi @mas49.
I'd like to help!
I understand you are unable to connect the printer to the network.
To assist better -
- I would like to know, is your router set to work on 2.4 GHz network or 5 GHz network band?
- Are you trying to connect the printer to a home to a public network?
- What is the distance between the router and the printer?
While you respond to that, try the below steps -
Connect the printer using Wi-Fi Protected Setup (printers without a touchscreen)
Use the Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) button on your router to connect the printer to your Wi-Fi network.
-
Place the printer near the Wi-Fi router.
-
Put the printer in WPS connection mode.
-
Most printers without a touchscreen control panel: Press and hold the Wireless button
for five seconds or until the wireless light starts to flash.
-
HP Deskjet 6000 and 6400, ENVY 6000 and 6400, and Tango printers: Press and hold the Wi-Fi button
and the Power button on the back of the printer for five seconds until the blue bar flashes.
-
-
Within two minutes, press and hold the WPS button
on the router until the connection process begins.
-
Wait for the Wireless light or bar on the printer to stop flashing. The printer is now connected to the network.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
