HP Envy 7640 all in one
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My operating system is Windows 10 and I have an HP Envy 7640 All-In-One printer that will not connect and print.  The printer shows offline however the printer is connected to my router.  I have tried multiple times the HP Print and Scan Doctor which did not work.  I have deleted the printer and tried to reinstall the drivers which also did not work.  This printer is one that HP replaced last year after the 6800 series one that I had owned only a few months failed.  I am pretty frustrated with HP printers at this point.  I would appreciate any help or suggestions anyone might have to fix the problem... Thanks

Welcome to the HP Forums. I would be happy to help you with your HP Envy 7640 printer. I understand that you that your printer shows offline and you have already done some preliminary troubleshooting.

Don't worry though as I have a few steps to determine the issue and find a solution as well,

  • Set the default printer and unpause printing.
  • Reset the printer and check the connection status.
  • Make sure the correct port is selected.
  • Create a manual connection.
  • Reinstall the printer using HP Printer Assistant.
