HP Envy 5660
Microsoft Windows Vista

I just purchased an HP Envy 5660 All-In-One mainly to print photos and images. (It did come highly recommended on a craft site I frequent) however; every time I print a photo or image, horizontal lines appear - roughly an inch apart. I've tried photo paper, plain paper, vinyl, etc. and the same thing happens every time. I've printed the photo/image straight from my computer as well as through my Cricut software with the same results. I'm SO frustrated!!! Any suggestions????

Welcome to the HP Community @DWhitsett,

I read about the horizontal lines you are seeing print out on your images and photos, from your Envy 5660, and I wanted to reach out to you to help.

I would recommend trying the steps from the guide below to start. I know the title is not your issue specifically but the steps are important to try. Also test a copy, which does not involve the PC to see if there are still lines on the copies. If there are, there is a hardware problem with the printer, and if not, there is a software issue on the computer somewhere.

Please let me know your findings and we can go from there.

I also have lines spaced about an inch apart when I print photos on my brand new HP Envy 7640.  As suggested below, I tried a copy of some photos printed elsewhere (which did not have lines) and the new copy had lines.I'm using HP "Everyday" photo paper (product Q8723A).  We are not happy.

Good day @oconnor555,

This is a great place to visit for Community and HP support! I understand you are having print quality issues when printing photos and copying. I can help you.

I have provided a couple of documents that should help resolve this print quality issue that you are having:

Lines or Bands in Scans, Copies, or Faxes.

A 'Cartridges Missing' or 'Ink Cartridges Problem' Message Displays on the Control Panel. Disregard the title.

Are you still using the original cartridges?

What are the ink levels?

If the issue is resolved, your welcome to show your appreciation by clicking the "Accept as Solution" and the "Thumbs Up". Let me know how you make out. Thank you.
