I am running Windows 10, using a 6310 Officejet. The printer/scanner still works well except for one thing. If one of the pages  I am scanning is not a full page of print HP cuts it off.

It doesn't cut if off during the scanning, it cuts it off when it saves it to a file. So when you bring the file up it is cut off. Some times it's the bottom and some time sit the bottom and the top.

It gets to be a problem when you have to email the document(s) to someone.

Set your Page Size in scanning software to match the document size OR set Page Size to "Entire Scanning Area".

In the case of the HP Scan Extended   software, you can set the Page Size to Auto-Detect.

Hi Dragon-Fur, thank you for responding so quickly. I was unable to find the option you cited anywhere in the Scan settings.

The setting may not be available -- where / how / if you set Page Size does depend which application /  Program you are using to submit the job to the scanner.

For example:

The Full Feature Software (Printer program / software), after it is installed and the computer is rebooted, provides scan software through the Printer Assistant shortcut icon on the Desktop named for your printer.   As I recall, Page Size was included; apparently not on the older printer program(s).  Rats.

It is too bad your printer does not apparently support the  HP Scan Extended  software.  (You did not say; I would have expected you have tried it.)  HP Scan Extended is easy to use and provides an intuitive GUI (Graphic User Interface).  The "how-to" videos provide easy-to-understand instructions.  Sad, indeed.

The other software programs mentioned might have worked for this as well.   More sadness.

IF you are using the front panel of the printer, I find the User Guide is very vague about how to set up / manipulate the scan settings.  No help there.

If I have anything else to offer, I will post back.
