HP LaserJet 700 color MFP M775
Microsoft Windows Server 2008

When attempting to add "Outgoing E-Mail Servers" on the LJ M775, adding the settings for Office365 fails to test and configure correctly.

i have read most of the forums, and triple checked the settings being used, but the device does not want to connect. The firewall is open to allow the settings and can be configured on a desktop without issue.

SMTP: smtp.office365.com

PORT: 587

Enable SMTP SSL Protocol

Using O365 Credentials

when i click "TEST" i get the following error

"The operation failed. Please verify your configuration and try again"

ScanTestError

i need some assistance

FYI

i can telnet to "Port 587", and i have made sure that the "Networking" includes the correct DNS Suffix and DNS server addresses. Although this  fails, i am not sure what is actually failing as there are no other error messages.

Hello,

I had the exact same issue with the same printer.

I did a firmware update + it restarted itself after the update. And it worked. (We had a change of SMTP, and it could not find the new one. )

Is the firmware I updated to. And it worked after. Hope it helps.
