I've followed the instructions to reset this (quite old) printer after it picked up multiple sheets at one go and it reported a paper jam. There wasn't in fact any paper left inside, but I've given it a clean anyway. Pressing both buttons to reset, I get three lights in unison, but when i release, it goes back to blinking orange and still thinks there's a jam. Never had a persistent issue like this before. Has its little brain packed up?

JohnB - thanks for the tip, but I had already gone through this cycle of checks and maintenance without success. Holding the two buttons down and re-powering always eventually produces orange rather than green. I can't complain after the many years of service from this printer, but I reckon it's a terminal electronic problem. J
