Hi, i am receiving Scanner error 13 on the printer LCD because of which i cant scan or copy documents.
I tried the HP print and scan test and on the WIA test it prompted me with a scan box when i clicked preview i received an error message saying that make sure that something else isnt using the scanner.
I receive this error even before plugging in the usb cable to my computer so i dont think it is related to windows or anything
Thanks

Make sure the printer is connected directly to wall outlet. (don't use a power hub or a surge protector)
- On the printer control panel, press the Setup button.
- Use the arrow buttons to select the Reports menu, and then press the OK button.
- Use the arrow buttons to select the Config report option, and then press the OK button.
- Go to the Start menu and select run.
- Type services.msc and click OK.
- Locate the 'Shell Hardware Detection' in the list. If it is not enabled/started, Make sure to enable/start the service. Also make sure the Startup Type set as Automatically from its properties.
- Locate the 'Windows Image Acquisition (WIA)' in the list. If it is not enabled/started, Make sure to enable/start the service. Also make sure the Startup Type set as Automatically as well.
- Locate the 'Remote Procedure Call (RPC)' in the list. If it is not enabled/started. Make sure to enable/start the service. Also make sure the Startup Type set to Automatically.
I believe that this will provide a resolution to your issue. Thank you.
