I have installed all the drivers and the printer work fine, but I cannot connect to printer's control panel to enable Web services. The printer is connected to router via network cable and the computer via Wi-Fi. Tried from 3 different computers and few different browsers and get the same result:
When I type in the IP address of the printer in the browser I get page with this text:
"subTitle"> HP ePrintCenter
- Go to the HP ePrintCenter Web site for more information and specific terms and conditions: http://www.hpePrintCenter.com"
What could be the problem and solutions to it?

Hi Viv-IT,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums. I understand that you are unable to enable the web services for your Laserjet 1213.
I have made the assumption that your printer is connected by an ethernet cable or connected wirelessly. From the front panel of your printer please run a configuration report. To do this please follow the steps:
-
On the product control panel, press the Setup button (
).
-
Press the Right Arrow button (
) to select Reports , and then press OK .
- Press the Right Arrow button to select Config Report , and then press OK to print the report.
This will print your configuration report. On the configuration report is the IP address for your printer and which network it is connected to. Please enter the IP address of the printer into the address bar of your preferred browser (Internet Explorer, Chrome, or Firefox) from a device that is on the same network as the printer. This should connect you to the embedded web server for your printer.
Once you have accessed the embedded web server please check to see if you need a firmware update. After ensuring your firmware is up-to-date you should be able to click on the web services tab and enable it. I have also included the document with the steps to setup your ePrint and customize the printer's email address.

A question that said "I cannot access the printer control panel with my browser" was answered with "Access the printer control panel with your browser and change some settings there"... Great... Obviously, not the right answer.
Anyway, I have the exact same issue - when accessing the printer with a browser (FF and IE), it shows me the same gibberish/chopped page as the OP described.
I've noticed that my firmware is not up-to-date (it's from February-March 2013), and I haven't updated the firmware as I lack the USB cable (which HP generously decided it should not be provided since the printer has wired network conectivity).
Has anyone managed to fix this issue in any way? Is it firmware related?
(I need to know if I should start scavenging for a USB for the update as it's not worth buying it just for this one )

Dear Friends,
Managed to solve the issue through Firmware update .
Was apprehensive to go for firware update, most of the blogs warned about the Firware update getting halted in between, making the printer non-functional...
But decided to take the risk, downloaded and updated the firmware..that was it:catlol:.....Able to access my printer interface through IP.
Thanks,
Viviyan

Firmware updates are not that risky - not 100% safe either - but they are usually worth it.
Thanks a lot for clarifying that updating the firmware solved the problem. Definately, more helpful than the HP expert guy.
Kudos from me.
I wonder how thoroughly the producs are tested, if they are shipped with defective firmware.. HP, you're starting to disappoint me.

Glad to know m reply helped you 🙂
I do agree firmare updates was not that much risky, but there were few postings with similar cases, where firmware updates on same model ended up in disaster.:smileysad:..update got hanged in midway, printer became dead and and had to take to service centre. If on warranty it will be replaced else will reach the dumpard:smileysurprised:
Fortunatly i was saved, may be HP have released new firmware to tackle this..

I just want to add that a USB cable is not needed to apply the update, if you have network connectivity to the printer (at least for this model).
This is mentioned on the "Requirements" tab for the firmware update utility:
HP LaserJet M1130_M1210 series printer driver must be installed. Must be able to print to the HP LaserJet M1130_M1210 series.
It is not specified that a USB cable is needed (but it is not very clear that you may apply the update without one), and this may get overlooked by the casual reader (me included).
