I have reviewed all the other posts here as well as done all the steps in the posts as well as the troubleshooting guide but nothing has fixed this issue.

Basically no matter what you print you just get a black page, I have set the print density down to the lowest it will go and still get a black page which does not make any sense.

We are using a HP 85A toner cartridge in the printer as recomended by HP and actually went out and picked up a ream of HP paper just to test its still printing out a black page.

I have ran HP Print Scan Doc 4.3 and that didn't fix it.

I have updated the drivers and the firmware and that has not fixed it.

I have used 2 different toner cartridges and that has not fixed it.

Im out of ideas here and am I just screwed and the printer is self just needs to be trashed or sent in for repairs?

Welcome to the HP Forums bLDev,

I see by your post that you have replaced the black toner a couple of times with Genuine HP toner and you are still getting a black page printed. The firmware was also updated.
I can help you with this issue.

It sounds like a possible hardware issue with the fuser.

Make sure the printer is connected directly to a wall outlet. (don't use a power hub or a surge protector)

Inspect the toner cartridge for damage:

1. Remove the toner cartridge from the product and verify that the sealing tape has been removed.
2. Check the memory chip for damage.
3. Examine the surface of the imaging drum on the bottom of the toner cartridge.
CAUTION: Do not touch the roller (imaging drum) on the bottom of the cartridge.

Fingerprints on the imaging drum can cause print-quality problems.
4. If you see any scratches, fingerprints, black toner, or other damage on the imaging drum, replace the toner. (you have already done this)
5. If the imaging drum does not appear to be damaged, rock the toner cartridge gently several times and reinstall it.

Print a few pages to see if the problem has resolved.

If you are still having issues then restore the printer back to factory settings.

You will have to reconfigure the network again.

This information is provided from the manual on page 31. LASERJET PROFESSIONAL P1100 Printer series.

1. Turn the product off.

2. Press and hold the wireless button and the cancel button and then turn the product on.

3. Hold the buttons until all the lights blink in unison and then release the buttons.

Try and print a hardware self test page to see if you have the same results.

Printing a Configuration Page.

Select Method two.

I have provided a document to go through the steps to see if it will help resolve this issue.

If the issue persists you can call HP Tech Support for further assistance to see what other options are
available for you, you can also inquire about the trade in and trade up program since you have these extra toners now.

Still printing solid black. With two different toner cartridges.

HP Recommended

Hi all,

My HP Laserjet P1102 started printing solid black pages after I had removed and replaced the same cartridge.

Eventually found that on the printer inside left hand wall there are two semicircular shiny silver wires that contact the left side of the cartridge. The one nearest the front had been bent upwards. Bent it down so it was almost at 90 degrees to side and now printing again. Possibly I damaged it trying to remove a cartridge a while back.

My P1102w was just about to be thrown in the garbage because of full black pages on new toner cartridge #3. The tip of looking for a bent wire on the inside left front of toner loading area, and bending it to touch the cartridge, solved the problem.

How could such an experience company as HP make such a chincy fragile toner cartridge electrical connection? It has all the class of using a bent paper clip.

For those who like me are frustrated by this printer of insufficient quality, here is an additional tip. The toner cartridge has a flimsy plastic cylinder, appx 2mm in diameter by 4mm length. The cylinder is essential to activating an onboard jaw that makes additional elecrical connections. The jaw looks like half a staple remover.  IF you push in the toner cartridge with less than the grace of a ballet dancer, the 2mm plastic cylinder popps out and falls to the floor of the printer.

I just put a label on the outside of my printer "carful, dont break fragile small black cylinder on left of cartridge" to warn next poor sucker.

Oh Brother, where art though? (hint hint)

Great Advice! Solved my Problem. Though I had to "fish" the metal contact which, in my case,  was not bent but stuck inside.

Thanks!
