Hi @dennieboy96 ,
I see by your post that you would like to setup the scan to email. I would like to help.
Are you trying to setup the scan to email from the printer or from the HP Software?
I have included both documents.
Scan from Windows 7 With the Full Feature HP Software for HP LaserJet Multifunction Printers.
What operating system are you using? How to Find the Windows Edition and Version on Your Computer.
If you need further assistance, just let me know.
Have a nice day!
Thank You.

I had a similar issue. It turned out that my DNS settings were never configured. I'd look into this as it solved my issue with not being able to send out emails via gmail.
DNS settings can be configured through the web interface by typing in the device's IP address and going to the Networking Tab, and then selecting "Network Identification". A good default DNS address would be "8.8.8.8".
Hope this helps! 🙂
