Hello, @Cube77

Thanks for the update!

Try the steps below to get the HP Scan software on your PC:

·         First, unplug the USB cable from the printer if present.

·         Go to Control panel – Programs and feature – Select all the HP LaserJet printer entries and uninstall them.

·         Now go to Control panel – Devices and printer – Select all the printer entries and remove the device.

·         Press the "windows key" + "r" to get the "Run" window open - Type "printui.exe /s" (There is a space between .exe & /) and press enter.

·         Under print server properties, go to drivers - remove any entry there as well.

·         Again, go to the Run window, type – “c:/programdata” – Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.

·         Restart your computer.

·         Now click http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/COL44392/kj-107661-4/LJ-Pro-200-color-MFP-M276-full-solutio... to install the software.

·         Connect the USB cable if prompted and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

Restart the PC and the printer once done and then try scanning.

Let me know if that helps!

Cheers 🙂

Hello, @Cube77 – Hope you are well 🙂

Welcome to the HP Forum! This is a wonderful location to converse with the community, get assistance and find tips!

I understand that you are trying to scan legal size paper on your LaserJet printer. You can easily do this using the printer ADF (Automatic Document Feeder).

First off, install the full feature printer drivers if you have not installed it already. Go to http://hp.care/2oNOfSe and select Software and drivers to download and install the drivers.

Now, open the HP Scan application on your PC. Simply load the legal size document in the ADF and select “Scan” option to scan.

Check “Scan with HP Scan software” here: http://hp.care/2oO4SgL

Those steps should do the trick, let me know the outcome!

Good luck 🙂

Thanks for the response,

I've always managed the tasks without the HP software, although they are already installed.

I did reinstall the software after  a PC OS upgrade from win7 pro 64 to win 10 pro 64.

following your  link to the win 10 software\driver istallation package ----- the package was already installed.

that is: LJ-Pro-200-color-MFP-M276-full-solution-15188

the second link provided in your answer didn't lead to any other HP software but rather to Windows free software.

searching what I had as shortcuts befor the OS upgrade lead me to :

"C:\Program Files (x86)\HP\HP LaserJet 200 color MFP M276\Bin\HPScan.exe"

but the [Bin\HPScan.exe] is no longer there.

I am guessing this is what I am missing, ------ the HPScan.exe

Q- where do I find the software?

Q- is it the [LJ-Pro-200-color-MFP-M276-full-solution-15188] package? --- I did install it again, [nothing else was added]

thanks.

David

I will follow your detailed  instructions thanks Dvortex, [not possible today]

one issue is that the printer is connected through the LAN.

Q: is USB connection for recognition a must?

note:

another option I have is installing the HP software on my laptop [never installed/win10 pro 64] as well.

[but the laptop is not the main homegroupe initiator]

thanks again

Hello, @Cube77

No, the USB connection is not required if the printer is connected to the LAN.

I have mentioned unplugging the USB cable in case if the connection is using the USB cable. So, if the printer is connected to the network, please ignore the 1st and last step and proceed with the other steps. while installing the printer, in the connection type window, select "Wireless" and follow the on-screen instructions.

Let me know how that goes!

Cheers 🙂
